Street Photography in Cuba
with Nelson Ramirez de Arellano Conde, intro by Jock McDonald
Nelson Ramirez de Arellano Conde has been involved with Fototeca de Cuba (the National Gallery of Photography in Havana, Cuba) for 16 years, first its Chief Curator, now its Director. Since 1994, he's also 1/2 of the artist/photographer duo Nelson & Liudmila.
On September 5th, 2017, Streetography is proud to host a talk by Ramirez de Arellano Conde at Harvey Milk Photo Center, joined by Jock McDonald, as they bare their souls and share perspectives about the travails, surprises and joys of working and taking photographs of a forbidden country at the height of its American embargo, showing some remarkable and rarely seen photos along the way.
